“Prepare, Razakar” – Opposition Leader in Rajshahi Receives Death Threat

An opposition leader in Rajshahi has allegedly received death threats along with a shroud and a note reading “Prepare, Razakar… Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu.” On Saturday night (9 August), assailants reportedly attempted to set fire to the home of Khalid Hasan Milu, a member of the National Citizen Party (NCP) district committee in Dhurail village, Mohonpur.
According to Milu, rain prevented the fire from spreading, and neighbors helped extinguish it. Police later recovered the shroud and the threat note from the scene.
NCP’s joint district convener Nahidul Islam Saju claimed that ruling party-backed assailants were behind the attack, blaming law enforcement for failing to prevent such incidents.
Mohonpur Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge Ataur Rahman said legal action would follow upon receiving a formal complaint, and an investigation is underway.
